Dear Fans,

I was thinking about this since I returned from EUROPE gig:

What do u think about showing "devils horns" with fingers during EUROPE live act? [SM=x237824]

I'm not some Christian fanatic - but I don't like to see that - SPECIALY on EUROPE concerts.

By the way, I'm not sure a lot of people (who are using this) are aware of it's meaning....

Devils horns...
Hey Alex!

I was very aware of this at the concert too however I found it hard to determine half the time if what I was seeing were 'Devil' gestures, or simply the 'Hard Rock' gesture...

...they are identical except for the direction your hand is facing... and having lived through a naaasssty mosh experience during NIGHTWISH, everyone was being mixed up like a frothy cocktail and hands and fists were spilling out in all directions!
Its in Rock culture nowdays to use these gestures (either of them) without having much of a belief in whether they MEAN anything or not (like you said, many don't realise)...

For the record, it didn't bother me either way. The 'Devils Horns' gesture I see as USELESS in terms of black magic without the power and determination to make it MEAN anything more than a hand gesture. You with me?

Interesting topic for discussion mate! I wonder what others think...

Good one
Yes, I have wondered just abit about this too. I have been to quite a few concerts during my life and the 'devils horns' are repeated everywhere for just about everything these days. ( I even saw it at an 'Aqua' concert!)
Maybe during a deathmetal concert one or two fans actually mean something by doing the 'devils horns', but I don't think a lot of people know that it could have such a meaning.
And yes, it fully depend on which way you turn your hand.

I wouldn't take it too seriously. Dimi is right, you have to focus VERY hard on the meaning and you have to be very powerful in black magic to actually do something with that gesture!!! And not a lot of Europefans do black magic, I think!

It has become the symbol of 'hard rock'... and that's not such a bad symbol now is it [SM=x237824]

Interesting, this one!!

I've thought a lot about it and to me it's clear; you can think what you want of it. I've read so many explanations about the horns that I'm tired of it! Think what you want. I will never use it as a symbol in relation with the devil or satanism [SM=x237810] . For me it's the overall hardrock/metal symbol [SM=x237809] nothing more, nothing less!!

devil means rock
i think it is cool to show devil horns at a europe concert, not only that it is supposed to be satanic but it also means rock. i think the lads would like us to show the horns at their concerts cause that is what it is all about,to rock dude!!!

Well I only knew that people (in Italy at least I guess) use THREE fingers (thumb, index finger, little finger) to mean three words: I LOVE YOU.
I use to do it when I go to some Europe concerts![SM=x237800] [SM=x237836]
